“Go Into All the World” — Mark 16:15 and the Call to Send
“He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” Mark 16:15 (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
The Command to Go — and to Send
“Go ye into all the world” is one of the clearest statements of the church's mission: the gospel is for every person, in every corner of the earth. From the beginning, believers have taken these words as a mandate to carry the good news across every border and barrier — to preach the gospel to all nations until everyone has had the chance to hear.
But "going" has never been the work of a lone individual. Even the apostles were sent by churches, supported by churches, and prayed for by churches. The call to spread the gospel to all nations is a call to the whole body of Christ — some to go, and many to send.
“How Shall They Preach, Except They Be Sent?”
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
Paul's logic runs backward from the lost to the sender: people cannot believe in someone they have never heard of; they cannot hear without a preacher; and no one preaches unless they are sent. Senders are not on the sidelines of the Great Commission — they are the reason the preacher can go at all.
That is exactly where Ergatas fits. We help you find a worker already going into all the world, so you can stand behind them in prayer and support and share in the beautiful work of bringing good news to those who have never heard.
