Hello! We are Julio and Monce Alonso, missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) San Diego/Baja, serving in Tijuana, Mexico.
God has called us to serve in Villa Paraíso, a vulnerable community where many families face significant economic and social challenges. We believe the Gospel transforms not only individual lives but also families and entire communities.
We serve as part of Homes of Hope, a ministry that builds homes for low-income families living in great need. However, our mission does not end when a family receives the keys to their new home.
We also serve through the Homes of Hope Follow Up Ministry, where we continue walking alongside these families by building genuine relationships, making disciples, and encouraging spiritual and personal growth. Over time, God showed us that while a house can change a family’s living conditions, lasting transformation happens when an entire community is reached with the love of Christ.
That vision led us to launch Hope Zone Villa Paraíso.
Hope Zone began as a ministry serving families who had received Homes of Hope houses, but God gradually opened the door for it to expand and serve the entire community.
Today, Hope Zone is a community development ministry rooted in a biblical worldview, where children, teenagers, parents, and families gather each week to grow in their relationship with God, strengthen their families, develop practical life skills, and discover God’s purpose for their lives.
Inspired by Luke 2:52, we desire to see every person grow in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God, and in favor with others. We believe this holistic growth is the foundation for healthy communities transformed by the Gospel.
We believe God transforms communities by transforming people.
That is why we are committed to making disciples, strengthening families, and equipping local leaders who will one day carry the hope of Christ throughout Villa Paraíso and beyond.
What began with a handful of Homes of Hope families is now reaching an entire community.
By partnering with us, you are helping build far more than houses. You are helping make disciples, strengthen families, develop leaders, and participate in the holistic transformation of a community for the glory of God.

* Pray that God will continue raising up local leaders within the community.
* Pray that the Lord will provide faithful ministry partners to join us in this mission.
