My name is Shirdora Brown and I am a Chi Alpha Missionary. My husband's name is Micah and we have a daughter named Amaiah.
Chi Alpha is a college ministry on over 200 campuses with a mission to reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-Filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission to transform the university, the marketplace and the world. The campus I am serving at with Chi Alpha is Texas Southern University, an HBCU in Houston, TX. My desire is to create a safe place where students can bring their hurts, doubts and pain and find hope in Jesus through community.
The college campus is a strategic mission field. The over 10,000 students enrolled at TSU will be our future missionaries, parents, doctors, lawyers, teachers, judges, pastors and other professionals. In reaching the campus, we can reach the world. My hope is that Chi Alpha at TSU will not only be a healthy thriving ministry, but that it will also become a training ground for other missionaries desiring to do campus ministry at an HBCU.
