Bassie and Mabinty Miriam Kargbo
CanSerra Development Organization — HM7X+FX Freetown, Sierra Leone
My name is Bassie Kargbo. I am married to Mabinty Miriam Bangura and we have four children (Admire Mariabess Kargbo, Momoh Bassie Renner Kargbo, Lydia Denise Kargbo and Alimamy-Lahai Emmanuel Kargbo). We currently live in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Canada. Our mission is more focused in Sierra Leone. Born and raised in Sierra Leone, we experienced the horror of war and struggles to better education.
I fled Sierra Leone in 1999 after the rebels invaded the capital Freetown in January 6, 1999. I fled to Guinea Conakry and to Senegal where I eventually gained resettlement to Canada in 2005. This opportunity of coming to Canada was a gift from God that we think should be impacted to others. I and my family therefore decided to create an impact through education and health. We believe that when someone is educated that individual will not be influenced to take arms and destroy the other. This was the reason why the CanSerra Development Organization started in 2009 to present. We have been able to build several school structures from nursery to college level.
We believe that by helping the poor through education and skills training opportunities is an expression of love. In Mathew 28:19 - 20 of the great commission, Christ authorized the disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This is our mission to keep spreading the love of God to the poor by given them hope.
When such love is shared means we bring them closer to God. We believe that our actions speaks more to people and an easy way of winning souls closer to God. By helping someone gain education and skills training means one have shared the love of God. We have sacrificed our time and resources over the past 15 years and Christ has never abandon nor forsake us despite the struggles.
Your partnership with us will help us reach our goal in reaching out to more communities that needed help such as schools, clean drinking water and scholarships to further their education. Your support will also help us reach more remote areas that needed this love of making a difference in their lives. You physical, financial and prayer support is of great importance in the furtherance of the kingdom of God, especially to those crying for such help.
Thanks so much for supporting CanSerra Development Organization, a Sierra Leone base organization that is partnering with CanSerra: Canadian Society for Education in Sierra Leone, of which we are the founding members.
