Shelley Fortune
Operation Mobilization
Hello Everyone, I am Shelley Fortune a Full-Time Missionary from Guyana. I am presently working with Operation Mobilization as the Country Director for OM Guyana and the TeenStreet Director for the Caribbean. As the Country Director, some of my responsibilities are networking and creating church partnerships, creating mission awareness, mobilization for world missions, financial development, reaching the least reach in Guyana and around the world, evangelism, and discipleship. I am also responsible for recruiting and building a team in both roles. Locally we are presently focused on establishing a special needs ministry and reaching the least reached in Guyana( these include Muslims and Native Amerindians groups.)
TeenStreet exists to engage and unlock teenagers’ potential towards seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers amongst the least reached. It is a year-round discipleship movement for teens. With this ministry, we partner with Churches to establish small discipleship groups for teens to connect and be disciples by mature Christian adults of the same gender while building friendship and community and being empowered to disciple others.
In addition to this, I volunteer with Child Evangelism Fellowship Guyana and Christian Ministries Fellowship Global (CMF Global). With CMF Global, I serve as part of a team and am responsible for coordinating Leadership Training in Guyana, the Caribbean, the USA, India, Africa, and the Philippines. The purpose of these trainings is to equip Christian leaders to be leaders that bring transformation.
From the tender age of eight(8), I knew I was called to be a missionary and since then I have become passionate about missions and serving cross-culturally. My desire is to use all my gifts, talents, abilities, and resources to make the name of Jesus known especially in places that it is not known. I desire to see the power of God transform the hearts of men. I am passionate about people, I believe that people need help, and in whatever small or large way I want to do what I can to help others. I enjoy travelling and connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds and I also enjoy being out in nature.
As a missionary, I do not receive a salary so my monthly income comes from generous men and women who have decided to give. If you are one such person who decides to support me financially you will be helping me to fulfill God's plan for my life as I serve as a missionary. My monthly needs will also be met and I am presently trusting God for a vehicle, to be specific an off-trail vehicle as this will help me to better reach out to the churches and least-reach Groups in Guyana, especially in the Hinterland communities, but this will only be possible with your support.
To cover my monthly support I would need to raise $700 -$1000 USD and for monthly ministry support I would need to raise $1000 USD.
