When I look back at my life, my journey with the Lord, I feel now that I was living what I thought it meant to be a Christian was an illusion. I thought I lived in a sturdy building on solid rock, but it was actually a tent without foundations that flew away at the first gust of wind, the every day struggles of life that confront most of us got in the way. Everything revolved around continual religious ceremonies that I believed to be so important. Then the Lord sent a mentor, a disciplemakers that helped me understand, starting from the "Cornerstone" Christ, and enabled me to define the foundations of a life as a disciple and helped build a wall of "Truth" for my life -- in Christ.
Matthew 16:18 "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.”
We are called to be Christ's collaborators or apprentices in the reconstruction of people's lives:
praying with passion for the Lord to prepare the ground to receive the Gospel, to receive Christ the Cornerstone.
care for people with love to begin to lay the foundations because the "Director of Work" Jesus commands us to…
share everywhere the truth of the Gospel and to rebuilding broken walls destroyed because of sin.
The walls of anicient cities defined their boundaries, location and gave protection, they were where guards stood to warn everyone of an attack it was also the place where people assembled.
We are together in this mission. We are "one." Together we want to rebuild, together we want to give hope, certainty and protection by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples who go on to make disciples.
I am called to do this work, and I ask you to help provide one "brick" at a time, so together, we build the wall!
